During the Alaska Sessions journey filmmakers Fred Dickerson and Matt McNeil didn’t get to surf quite as much as they might have liked.
The limited sessions made the ones they did get even sweeter. Frederick was pretty pleased with himself after this session, photographed by his brother Scott Dickerson, and even more pleased when he saw the evidence. To have it memorialized on a BEER, and such a tasty beer at that, was a dream Fred didn’t even know to dream, come true.

Alaska Sessions premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival to a sell-out show. The movie was well-represented by some of its cast of characters: Captain Mike & Wendy McCune, Don “Iceman” MacNamara and his lovely wife Donna Rae Faulkner. They were joined by friends and fans and a good time was had by all, including a small but perfect session at Rincon.
